Rope Access Tracks

Rope Access tracks enable multiple rope access operatives to traverse quickly and efficiently without the need for rigging and de-rigging. (abseil track) 

There are various usability options available such as motorized or manually operated trolleys, single or double suspension trolleys and parking brakes.

These systems can come curved, in a variety of finishes and even concealed within the building structure to blend in with the architecture.

These systems must be inspected before and after every use by a trained user. They must be inspected & tested by a suitable working at height Specialist Company a minimum of every 6 months and/or after every fall.

All you need to know about this solution...

General cleaning duties on a 6 month basis where the operatives have easy access to the roof would usually only require abseil points installing.

A complex large scale glass façade with restricted access may require a rail system incorporating a trolley equipped with twin suspension points and a small parking brake, which is applied when either descending or ascending, or when the trolleys are parked in the designated rigging point.

Rope Access tracks comply with the following standards:

  • BS EN 7883

Testing/Inspection standards and frequency:
LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) 1998 and BS EN 7883 – minimum of every 12 months and/or after every fall by a working at height specialist company
These systems must be inspected before and after every use by a trained user.
