About the project
The Brief
For this London-based project, the client required a permanent roof access solution for both an existing and new build that would enable safe working access to maintain roof lights and gutters.
The Solution
As recommended by the Working at Height Hierarchy of Control, we proposed designing and installing safety roof lifeline systems for restraint purposes. Designing systems in restraint around roof lights can be challenging, and the job needed to be completed within a two-week time frame.
The roofs in question were fitted with a Kingspan KS100RW roof sheet, so with Altus Safety being approved installers of the Kingspan Safepro2 system, we recommended using this, which would allow our client to maintain their all-in-one Kingspan guarantee.
The Result
We were able to design a fall restraint system for use with a fixed length lanyard that gave users access to a safe working area, whilst delivering the most cost-effective and compatible solution.
Upon completion, the client took advantage of our three-year re-testing agreement, and full onsite training was also provided to meet the client’s needs.
